Anywhere where there is free movement of people mixing. Pubs, offices, waiting rooms, living rooms, restaurants, taxis, doctors' surgeries and shops (the list is endless). If there are people mixing and breathing, an air purification system will help the battle against infection.
Possibly. There is talk of Airvia launching a table top version but in testing, the Aero 100 is so quiet and looks so good in all settings it really isn't necessary. With doors open between rooms we have found that the impact of the appliances extends way beyond their physical location so we are certainly not in a hurry to scale down.
Fully! Testing has shown the units work best when simply left on Auto.
Yes. That's absolutely what happens. In testing we simulated more activity by turning on kitchen appliances in a home environment. Auto mode moves up through the gears as soon as it detects any increase in particulates in the air. Whatever the reason, it will step up and down to adjust.
We are not clinicians so we cannot comment with any valid expertise. All we can say is that we know COVID is largely airborne. It sits in the air, the science tells us, in aerosols of about 3.0 microns and up as part of droplets that come out in breath, coughs and in speech. We know that our machines are certified to HEPA standard 13 which states a minimum of 99.97% of particulates must be removed from the air, down to 0.3m. By looking at that, we can offer that they should adequately cope.
The remote's colour-coded scale reflects the formaldehyde reading. The bar on the front of the machine reflects the aerosol rating, categorised as PM2.5s, which is where viral load will sit. Green on the front of the machine means clean, fan on 1. Blue means fan level 2 and readings on the remote of 21-50. The amber rating is for over 51 when the fan runs on 3. We have never seen, in testing, the fan of 3 or higher for more than 20 seconds, even when we have deliberately set a smoke test.
The battery within the remoter is rechargeable. It takes up to 5 hours to fully charge the first time. If you are using the remote"off charge" we recommend putting it back on charge overnight.
You still use it as normal. Air conditioning is a mechanism for heating and cooling. Purification is a completely different thing. We are taking harmful particles out of the air, AC simply changes its temperature.
Airvia provide manufacturers warranty for 5 years on both freestanding products and 3 years on the Airvia Car.
Again, the Auto function ensures the machine is ever only working as hard as it needs. In testing, we have found that the machines work almost exclusively on level 2 and drop to level 1 when PM2.5 levels drop below an indicated level of 20. On level 1 it is so quiet it is actually difficult to tell if it is even on.
We cannot definitively say but we are aware of some clients using them overnight and getting better rest. We can however confirm that whilst it may not help treat that condition specifically, clean air can only ever be a boost to general health.
On our personal note, our FD Barry Morgan-Smith suffers from asthma and overnight coughing has been significantly reduced. It isn't possible to offer a clinical assurance but it does seem to help.
Absolutely yes! The 8-layer filtration system (See The Science page) includes processes that strip out all the known air particles that cause allergies, bar of course cat and dog hair which isn't airborne. Hay fever sufferers should also see significant benefit.
We believe no, not at all. The clean air filtration system can only help because you are not breathing in all the airborne particulates and infections. Clean = good.
However, as we are not clinicians and do not have the right to make definitive assurances, we believe that any concerns should always be discussed with your midwife / NHS team for their reassurance.
